-Turning Your Dreams Into Reality-

Where it all Starts:

We’ve all been there before. Stuck in a place where we did not really want to be. We let our minds wonder. Wondering to that place we would rather be, that thing that we have always dreamed of having. Or perhaps you have ever caught yourself wondering what life would be like if…you won the Lottery, married that certain person you’ve had your eye on, or could the Zombie Apocalypse happen.

Sometimes you just shake your head and snap back into reality and go on with your day. Other times you can’t get it out of your head. It sticks with you. Even after you have snapped back into reality. Then before you know it, that simple mind wondering moment has become that things that drives you to do the things you do, to make it become reality.

What’s Going On?

You’re daydreaming.  When you start to daydream, you passively allowed yourself to get into a state of Zen. Basically, you have shut your mind off to all wondering thoughts. I’m guessing right now you are asking, “Isn’t a daydream really just a wondering thought?” Yes and No. Yes, your thought is wondering from the place you are at, lecture you are listening to, or task you should be completing. No, in that your thought is very specific, and no other thoughts are entering your mind. While in your daydream, you are usually forming a picture in your head of what it is you want, place you would rather be, or thing you would rather be doing. Most times when you daydream you input an emotional attachment to what ever it is you are daydreaming about. Usually when you daydream, you are thinking of something that will make you happy, joyful or ease a pain or problem.

Why do you shake off some daydreams and not others?

It really comes down to how believable and close to your reality they are. If you are daydreaming about flying through the air like some superhero or breathing underwater like Aqua man, then my guess is that you will be able to shake off your daydream pretty easy and get back to reality and go on with your day. If the daydream is about listening to your favorite song while walking down the beach on a sunny day, your favorite cold drink, and you know you are almost done doing whatever it is you are doing, the beach is only a few miles away, there is a store that sells your favorite drink along the way and it is sunny out, my guess is that it will be harder to shake the daydream.

How can Daydreaming get you what you want?

Controlling your Daydream

This is where we like to change the term “Daydreaming” into “Visualization”. They are very similar to one another. The main difference is that with Visualization you are consciously controlling how you want the pictures, thoughts, and emotions to be, instead of just letting them come about as they do while daydreaming.

Just like the unshakeable daydream, visualizations are meant to be believable and closer to your reality. At least at first. As with daydreaming, when you visualize that thing you want, have or experience, you have to get a clear picture in your mind. Try to see it a clearly as you can. The clearer you see it, with as many specific details as possible, the more your mind will believe it to be real.

While creating that picture in your mind, the next thing you want to do is imagine how that “thing” will make you feel. What emotions arise in you? If it makes you happy, don’t be afraid to laugh and smile. If it makes you feel giddy and excited, go ahead, do that happy dance, or feel the goose bumps form on your skin. Really sell yourself on the emotions.

This is why many books or lectures regarding this tell you to do this in private. If you do it in public and people stare at you like your crazy, but who cares! The happiness and joy you feel might project onto them and spread.

Wouldn’t life be better if everyone was so full of happiness and joy that they jump up and down as giddy as a kid jumping through mud puddles?

Adding To Your Visualization

Sometimes it is helpful to write down, in the same detail, what you are visualizing. If you are having a hard time producing the pictures in your mind, try searching for pictures on-line or in books and magazines. Make a collage of these pictures. Many people call these Visualization boards.

It is super important to take time each day to read or look over your visualization. Each time you do, immerse yourself in it. Feel those emotions you felt when you first started your visualization. If you feel as though you need to add more detail, go for it. It is after all your vision of that thing you want.

Turning Your Visualization into a Belief

By spending time on your vision each day, you are telling your subconscious mind that this is the thing that you want. After some time, depending on the magnitude of your vision, you will unknowingly be drawn to the things that will help you obtain that of which you desire. You will start to see pieces of it come together and you will have no doubt in your mind that you will get it. You Believe!

Your Belief will Manifest Your Vision

This belief will carry on and on in your subconscious mind until you obtain that “thing” you wanted. Without feeling like you are putting any effort into getting it. The hardest part is not to try and force it to happen. It’s like trying to force your kids to eat their vegetables. They will resist and resist. Always finding a way not to eat them. If you show your kids fun and tastier ways vegetables can be eaten. Over time it will not be as difficult to get your kids to eat them.

How Does Camping Tie Into All Of This?

In Many Ways!

Camping is often done out in nature. While surrounded by nature your mind and thoughts naturally slow down. It’s being surrounded by the simplicity of life that allows this. While camping you often find yourself sitting and staring at a fire. You get into the Zen state.

While in this “Zoning Out” ‘Zen’ state, your mind has the chance to wonder. You have the time to visualize what it is you want. If you ever notice a group of people sitting around a campfire, there is always a period of silence. At this point you know that everyone is in their own world, visualizing something.

For some un-known reasons. Maybe because you are closer to nature and more in tune with the natural vibrations of the earth, the visualizations are stronger and take a fast track into your subconscious mind.

Daydream, Belief, Reality

Campers are very innovative people and have the ability to develop new ways of accomplishing what they want. If you have ever read a camping magazine or blog, you will notice somewhere there is a section of Tricks or Hacks. These are simply things they have visualized what they want to accomplish brought to life. Not to mention, most products on the market today started off as a way to make life easier and more efficient. Pots, Pans, Water Bottles, Portable lights, everything had to start with a vision. Most of the well-known innovators of our time were also very enthusiastic outdoorsman. Meaning they went camping.

Who would have guessed that all the things’ humans have created, and all the places’ humans have gone, began with a simple Daydream, turning into a Belief, turning into Reality?
