When Should I Even Go Camping?

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. All you have to do is hear the call...To Go Camping

Simple answer: “When ever You Want!”

However I know that this is not the answer that you are looking for. So I will try and go more in depth of “When Should You Go Camping”.

Typical Times to Go Camping:

The Typical Camping season begins in early Spring (April/May) and goes through late Fall (September/October).

However, this may vary from region to region in the Continental United States.

For Example:

In the North East Region, the summers are warm, humid, and wet; the winters are very cold and snowy; and it is partly cloudy year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 26°F to 85°F and is rarely below 14°F or above 93°F.

So typically the campgrounds will open up later in the Spring to give the weather a little time to warm up.

HOWEVER…

In the South West Region, The region is mostly influenced by its geographic location between the mid-latitude and subtropical atmospheric circulation regimes. This positioning leads to year-round warm temperatures, low annual precipitation, and clear skies.

This leads to the campgrounds being able to stay open year round.

What does this mean for you?

Mostly, this means that you have to really take a moment and take stock in a couple different things.

  • How do you want to go camping?
  • What outdoor activities do you like or want to partake in?

That’s it! Everything else falls under those two categories. Simple Right?
